Some visitors approach these places through devotion or pilgrimage, others through history, architecture, philosophy or cultural curiosity. Many bring several of these interests together. Bhumivox welcomes these different perspectives.

Participation in worship, rituals and other religious observances remains a matter of personal choice and is subject to the rules of the relevant institution or custodian.

Temple entry, darshan arrangements, ritual availability, ceremonies and access to restricted spaces may depend on local regulations, religious practices, crowd conditions and decisions of the authorities concerned.

We cannot guarantee a particular religious experience, spiritual outcome or fulfilment of a personal vow.

Where specific religious arrangements form part of a confirmed journey, we will make reasonable efforts to facilitate them as described in the booking.

4. Bhumivox and Historika Foundations

Bhumivox Experiences Private Limited and Historika Foundations are two independent organisations with distinct purposes, governance, finances and operational responsibilities.

Bhumivox Experiences Private Limited is a commercial travel company responsible for designing, selling, arranging and operating its journeys in accordance with its agreements with travellers and partners.

Historika Foundations is an independent nonprofit organisation working in heritage research, mapping, documentation, conservation-related initiatives, public history, education and heritage skill development.

Chandru Ramesh is associated with both organisations in distinct professional capacities. His involvement does not make the two organisations legally or financially interchangeable.

Historika’s projects, research, records, intellectual property, funds and institutional relationships do not automatically belong to, transfer to or become available for commercial use by Bhumivox.

Any permitted collaboration, acknowledgement, sharing of research or use of intellectual property must rest on the appropriate authorisation and arrangements.

Bhumivox may support Historika’s independent public-interest mission through its own corporate decisions and lawful contributions.

5. Journey Leadership and Expert Participation

Bhumivox places significant importance on the person leading and interpreting a journey.

Our published scheduled departures through 31 March 2027 are planned to be personally led by Chandru Ramesh, unless a particular departure clearly states otherwise.

The intended journey leader is identified in the relevant departure information and booking communications. Private, institutional and customised journeys may have different leadership arrangements, agreed upon individually.

Local guides, historians, subject specialists, community representatives and other experts may also participate in specific segments of a journey.

If unforeseen circumstances require a change to an identified journey leader, Bhumivox will inform affected travellers as soon as reasonably practicable and explain the available options under the applicable booking conditions and law.

We recognise that the identity of a journey leader can be a material reason for selecting a particular experience.

6. Itineraries, Site Access and Operational Changes

Every Bhumivox journey is carefully planned. Nevertheless, travel involves factors that cannot always be predicted or controlled.

Changes may arise because of weather, road conditions, transport disruptions, local festivals, government restrictions, religious observances, public gatherings, site closures, safety concerns, natural events or other circumstances.

Site visits and their sequence may occasionally need adjustment. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the purpose, quality and essential character of the confirmed journey wherever possible.

Where a material change becomes necessary, travellers will be informed and the applicable booking terms and consumer rights will determine the available remedies.

The inclusion of a monument, temple, archaeological location or heritage landscape in a published itinerary does not guarantee access to every part of the site or to areas restricted by law, conservation requirements or local authorities.

Participation in research excavations or access to protected archaeological zones is not implied by the description of a journey as research-led or historian-led.

7. Prices, Availability, Bookings and Inclusions

Journey prices, departure dates, inclusions and availability are displayed on the relevant journey and departure pages.

Prices advertised as starting prices may vary according to the selected departure, room occupancy, available arrangements and other clearly disclosed components.

Services such as flights, visa assistance or visa fees, accommodation, meals, transport, admission charges and other arrangements are included only to the extent specifically stated for the selected journey. Different journeys may have different inclusions.

Before payment or booking confirmation, travellers should receive or have access to the applicable price, inclusions, exclusions, payment terms and cancellation conditions.

Submitting an enquiry does not itself reserve a seat or create a confirmed booking.

A booking becomes confirmed in accordance with Bhumivox’s published booking process, including the applicable payment and written confirmation requirements.

Prices and availability may change before booking confirmation. Any changes affecting confirmed bookings are governed by the applicable terms and law.

8. Accommodation, Transport, Meals and Other Service Providers

Bhumivox works with accommodation providers, vehicle operators, local guides and other independent service providers to deliver its journeys.

We endeavour to select providers with appropriate attention to safety, cleanliness, service quality, suitability and reliability. Individual hotels, vehicles, rooms and arrangements may differ by location and departure.

Where substitution becomes necessary, we aim to arrange a reasonably comparable alternative, subject to the confirmed booking terms and circumstances.

Meals arranged by Bhumivox are vegetarian. Jain, no-onion/no-garlic and other dietary requirements can be discussed in advance and are subject to confirmation and practical availability.

Travellers with serious food allergies or medical dietary restrictions should inform us before booking so that reasonable arrangements and limitations can be discussed.

Although external providers may be operationally independent, Bhumivox remains responsible for its own obligations under the applicable booking agreement and law. We will assist travellers in addressing service deficiencies or concerns arising during the journey.

9. Health, Accessibility, Safety and Travel Insurance

Some heritage journeys involve walking, steps, uneven terrain, outdoor exposure, long road journeys or visits to places with limited accessibility. Activity levels vary from journey to journey.

Travellers should review the relevant itinerary and tell our team about mobility, accessibility or other support requirements that could materially affect their participation. Where necessary, we encourage travellers to seek appropriate professional medical advice before travelling.

We will make reasonable efforts to explain practical limitations and discuss available arrangements. However, not all heritage sites, traditional buildings or remote locations are fully accessible.

Bhumivox is not a medical or emergency healthcare provider.

Our team will make reasonable efforts to provide assistance during unexpected situations, subject to local conditions and available services. Nothing in this section excludes responsibilities that Bhumivox may have under its agreements or applicable law.

10. International Journeys and Travel Documentation

For journeys outside India, including Sri Lanka, travellers are responsible for holding valid travel documents and meeting applicable immigration, entry and exit requirements.

Where Bhumivox expressly includes visa arrangements or related assistance in a confirmed package, we will provide the agreed service. However, visa approval, immigration clearance and permission to enter a country remain subject to the decisions of the relevant authorities.

Travellers should provide accurate documentation within the requested timelines and review official travel advisories and entry requirements before departure.

International ground arrangements may be delivered through appropriate local service providers, subject to applicable local requirements.

11. Photographs, Research Material, Intellectual Property and Testimonials

Images, videos, illustrations, maps and other material on our website are intended to communicate the places and experiences associated with our journeys. Actual conditions may vary with season, weather, local events and site access.
